Dinner Under The Stars

To celebrate the launch of the new Rebecca Lee Creative website and to say thank you to my nearest & dearest, we held a little 'launch dinner' in my parent's garden. It was sweet, simple and intimate.

My friend & styling wonder Hannah helped collect greenery and lay the table (she also took all the photos for this post!).
Whilst we scurried around clipping ferns and the neighbour's hedge, my ever-so wonderful Dad was climbing ladders and screwing hooks into palm trees to hang festoon lights.

The table we sat at is significant because it was actually handcrafted by my Dad with timber he sourced for my wedding. It's a stunning rustic timber table with bench seats which we placed under the festoon lights in the front garden.

We kept it simple with white and gold plates with handmade wooden place cards that I made the week before. I actually was so intent on the candles & greenery that I completely forgot to put cutlery on the table and had to scurry inside at the last minute as we began to eat.

Ah, food. One of life's great pleasures... especially if it's my Mum in the kitchen. We kicked off the evening with homemade sun-dried tomato hummus and dips before eagerly enjoying her bruschetta.  I can't give you a recipe because she didn't use one! Each little piece was a unique combination and each was delicious.

Dinner was prosciutto wrapped chicken, gourmet potatoes, pumpkin salad and pear and walnut salad. We followed dinner with homemade icecream... and this time I can't share the recipe because it's a family secret! We had a choice of Oreo Cookie Crumble, Caramel Delight or Berry Swirl with waffle cones and dipping toppings. Needless to say it was a wonderful way to end a 40 degree day!

This night was so much more than just an excuse for a fun dinner party, but a chance to thank the team of friends and family that mean so much to me. I couldn't have done this site without them nor would I have even felt motivated to begin my study at University. They are the greatest and I am so blessed by them.
